Overview

Florida has two levels of certification for prehospital providers: EMT-Basic and EMT-Paramedic. Florida has over 49,000 certified EMTs and Paramedics. EMTs and Paramedics provide pre-hospital care for the citizens and visitors of Florida.

There are currently over 150 state approved initial training programs Opens Training Programs PDF in a new window.(.pdf 114.528kb/15 pages) for individuals desiring to become certified as EMTs and Paramedics in the state of Florida.

Students will be trained to a national standard Opens NHTSA site in a new window.to enter the workforce as an entry level provider.

  1. Meet all applicable requirements of  the Florida Department of EducationOpens site in a
